5 Things To Consider Before Buying The Best 22 Inch Computer Monitor

1. 4K display vs 1080P

As the industry moves towards the adoption of 4K displays in place of older HD panels, there have been increased availability of 4K monitors at lower prices Just remember that if you are going from a full HD (1920 x 1080) monitor or TV to a 4K monitor(3840×2160), you will need to factor in the costs of upgrading your graphics card accordingly for an optimal display. This means that if you are considering moving from a 1080 monitor to a 4K screen, it’s best to upgrade your GPU before making the jump.

2. Refresh Rate

On average, 60 Hz refresh rate is considered the best trade-off between performance and price. An ideal monitor would have an IPS panel with “overdrive function” which ensures consistent picture quality even at higher refresh rates. Having a 1ms response time is also crucial; this eliminates ghosting/motion blur found on cheaper monitors with 5ms response times or slower. You should avoid TN panels like plague as they offer terrible viewing angles (especially vertical). Avoid VA panels too as they produce washed-out colors.

3. Built-in Speakers?

Built-in speakers are convenient but of terrible quality. They are usually down-firing, causing the sound to bounce off your desk and giving a muffled effect. Unless you absolutely have no other choice or don’t have room for external speakers, we recommend going with a monitor without built-in speakers. If you already own a set of speakers, try them on the monitor first before buying them to make sure they fit correctly without causing too much reflection/refraction from the curve at certain frequencies.

4. Stand or Adjustable Arm?

In our opinion monitors mounted on adjustable arms provide superior versatility to those that come with stands. It’s not always easy finding a stand that fits your desk perfectly. With an adjustable arm, you can simply move the screen up/down to get it into a comfortable position and then lock it into place. For multiple monitor setups, this also means less clutter on your desk.

5. Price vs Value

At the end of the day, we recommend going with a good quality IPS panel within your budget. Sure there are some TN options that feature faster response times and 1ms refresh rates but we don’t think they provide good value for money (literally and figuratively). Most people only work with computers so having accurate colors is key when choosing a display. As much as possible try to avoid “cheap” monitors – if you find one that’s good enough, buy it! Do not go for the cheapest thing you can find because it usually indicates poor quality.

3 Advantages Of 22 Inch Computer Monitor

1. Portability

The base of most 22 inch monitors is very light, often only around six or seven pounds, making it easy to pick up with one hand and move around to a different room or just a new spot on a desk.

2. Eco-Friendliness

The 22 Inch Computer Monitor uses less electricity than other computer monitor sizes and is the same amount as most medium-sized televisions. These smaller monitors use around 10 watts of power when off but are still plugged in, which is half of what larger screens use at 20 watts, and only slightly more than what medium-sized TVs use which is 8 watts.

3. Affordability

Most 22-inch computer monitors are very affordable even compared to larger screens like the 28 Inch Computer Monitor. A 32 inch TV can cost hundreds of dollars depending on its quality and brand name; whereas some lesser expensive 22-inch models retail for well under $100.
